NIGHTJAR COTTAGE
Nightjar Cottage in the picturesque Mpumalanga province, sleeps two people in a unique dome-shaped bedroom at an intimate escape tucked away at the base of a koppie outside Machadodorp. Guests feel nestled in the bush while also enjoying long distance views of the mountains.
The cottage has a small, fully-equipped kitchen and indoor living area with an open fireplace for those cold evenings or rainy summer days. There is a covered stoep and deck with a KolKol wood-fired hot tub, to soak up the stars in the evening or use as a plunge pool when it’s warm.
The interior is thoughtfully designed to offer homely comforts and beyond there are numerous opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities with your four-legged family members. From hiking the picturesque countryside to enjoying refreshing swims in nearby rivers, or simply relaxing on the porch, you can easily immerse yourself in the tranquillity of this quint essential rural South African.
There is a communal Wifi area between the cottages that all guests are welcome to use. Please note the connection is via satellite and can fluctuate from time to time.

PET POLICY
Nightjar welcomes a maximum of two dogs any breed or size per booking. Please just keep in mind that this cottage does not have any fence, increasing the chances of cows or small animals making their way up to your doorstep. Situated at the base of a koppie and encircled by bush, pets that tend to wander might disappear quickly out of sight. While large dogs are welcome, the space available within is quite limited, so please bear this in mind. The interior of the dome bedroom comprises floor-to-ceiling white fabric, and as a result, it's essential to monitor your dog's cleanliness while on the farm. Rest assured that Nightjar provides the utmost privacy, with no intrusions from people. However, you may come across animals passing through, and from time to time, monkeys may visit. They're neither aggressive nor interested in entering the unit, preferring to stay wary of dogs. Our housekeeping team is available every day, and they are excellent with pets. However, please let us know in advance if your furry friends require a proper introduction or have any issues with new people.
