Dogs can walk off-lead on the 1.5 km and 6 km trails through the reserve. Antelope and small wildlife are occasionally seen. A resident ridgeback lives on the property and may interact with visiting dogs — he is friendly, and proper introductions are made by the host. For reactive dogs, the ridgeback can be secured in his yard during your stay.

Stanford’s surrounding region offers dog-friendly walks, cafés, and quiet beaches. Guests with a 4x4 can access Die Plaat, a remote private beach in Gansbaai. The property forms part of the Cape Floristic Region, known for its biodiversity and coastal scenery.
